Education: When Frameworks Collide: Putting Intuitive Eating and the Division of Responsibility in Feeding to Work in Pediatric Nutrition Counseling

May 26, 2023 by Krisi Brackett Leave a Comment

Please check out this workshop by 2 of my former RD colleagues!

Details and Registration Link: https://www.knowingnutritionhub.com/self-study-cpe-library-for-dietitians/when-frameworks-collide

Program Description

The two best known, evidenced-informed feeding frameworks are the Satter’s Feeding Model and Intuitive Eating. Many parents align with one of these feeding strategies. While these frameworks have considerable overlap, there are distinct differences.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore the similarities and differences of these in everyday practices. We’ll discuss scenarios where the frameworks may conflict with one another. In addition, we’ll review some of the research supporting implementation and use in pediatric nutrition and feeding counseling.

Dietitians: This program has been CDR prior approval for registered dietitians. This program can help meet your ethics requirement.

Feeding Therapists: This program meets the ASHA Clinical Certification Standards for Professional Development and includes content on cultural humility and culturally responsive practice.
