I hope I grabbed your attention with the title. More to come on grasshoppers.
I had a wonderful opportunity this week- I got to spend an afternoon with Marsha Dunn Klein! This was an incredible treat for me and after several hours with Marsha, I felt very inspired. We looked at videos of children in therapy and talked about strategies for anxious eaters. We found common approaches and differing strategies. Needless to say, I have new material to try out with my kids! We also talked about our hopes for the field and found we both have a strong commitment to the education and training of fellow therapists.
Marsha shared with me some news. With her permission, she is allowing me to share information about her new upcoming book called Anxious Eaters /Anxious Mealtimes . This upcoming book is written for parents and therapists and Marsha is hoping the book will come out in about 5 months. She is planning to self publish because it her desire to keep the book affordable. There will be an announcement when the book is ready!
Marsha was inspired to write the book to help parents of picky eaters and therapists working with these children. Children who have extreme picky eating often come from a place of worry and need help trying to learn to eat a new food. In the book, Marsha will discuss strategies to help children try new foods and how to assist children and their parents be successful by redefining progress.
Marsha provided this video for you to watch where she shares one of her experiences trying a less than desirable food. Written copy of the story is also attached in pdf form. Enjoy!
