Hello Friends!

March 19, 2016 by Krisi Brackett Leave a Comment

Hello Friends!                      splat!

It’s been awhile since I posted and thought should I let everyone know what I have been up to……

I have taken some time to work on improving the blog, the new look should be ready very soon! There will be multiple posts visible at the same time and an improved archiving system. I hope to include a calendar highlighting feeding courses available, an e-commerce store to purchase or browse recommended products, a slow roll out of e-books for added info (and fund raiser for the blog), as well as some related advertising and connections to social media (what can I say I am old school but everyone tells me it is time to connect). Please let me know if you would like to see anything else added to make the blog more functional and useful.

I have been traveling and had the pleasure of giving courses in Tucson, AZ (thank you Meal Time Connections!) and Mc Allen, TX. I must write what an honor and pleasure it was for me to finally meet Marsha Dunn Klein in AZ! Even though I presented my 2 day course, I left with new ideas and perspectives and realizing how much we have to learn from each other, especially those of us from different disciplines providing care to children with feeding problems.

I continue to work full time at UNC in our multidisciplinary feeding clinic and this keeps me very busy. This year we received a grant from UNC’s Children’s Promise Fund for some feeding team projects, one of which is providing professional support to therapists working in the field and also to parents and caregivers. Last week we had our first professional discussion group. Thank you for those that came out! We hope to continue this 4x/year and possibly stream this at some point. Our feeding team is also planning a UNC feeding team blog and I will post a link as soon as it gets going!

I’m looking forward to the CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia) Feeding Conference on April 8-9, 2016. Hope to see some of you there!

Happy Feeding,

Krisi
